Football, Sport, LS11

Spanish midfielder Pablo Hernandez has officially put pen to paper at Leeds United and signed a two-year contract extension.

The deal will keep the 33-year-old at the club until 2020.

Pablo – who is the favourite to secure the Leeds United Player of the Year Award – has played 42 times this season, scoring nine times.

There were some rumours that Hernandez would not sign the extension and would leave the club in the summer after his family moved back to Spain.

But Leeds United fans can now rest easy knowing that Pablo will be at the club next season.

On our Leeds United podcast PSFC this week, special guest Phil Hay from the YEP, who joined Ryan Wilson and Darren Harper in the studio, spoke about Pablo Hernandez and revealed that he felt he would be staying at the club. Download the podcast here:

Later in the day the Spaniard was put infront of the press at Thorp Arch and spoke to Joe Redmond about his new deal and the trip to Norwich this weekend. Watch the full press conference below.
